The Biltmore Area Partnership (BAP) hosted its April Networking Luncheon on Wednesday, April 24, 2025, at the beautiful AC Hotel Biltmore, located at 2811 E Camelback Rd. The event ran from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, beginning with a lively networking session, followed by an engaging presentation and a delicious lunch.

Visit Phoenix: Insights on Phoenix’s Tourism Industry
This month’s featured speakers were Polly Flachman, Vice President of Community Engagement, and Eric Kerr, Vice President of Insights and Development for Visit Phoenix. Polly and Eric shared an in-depth market update on Greater Phoenix’s thriving tourism industry, highlighting several key points:
- Record-Breaking Visitation and Spending: Greater Phoenix welcomed a record 46.7 million visitors in 2023, resulting in a record $12.9 billion in direct visitor spending.
- Economic Impact: Tourism supports nearly 90,000 direct jobs and over 141,000 total jobs in the region.
- Phoenix’s Rising Profile: Phoenix Convention Center was ranked the #8 Convention Center in the U.S. and Sky Harbor International Airport was recognized as the nation’s top large airport by Wall Street Journal.
- Major Developments: Updates were shared on exciting new hotel, entertainment, and attraction developments, including the recently opened Revel Surf Park in Mesa and upcoming Mattel Adventure Park, and the VAI Resort in Glendale.
- Future Events: The city will continue to host major national and international events, including the 2025 CFP Fiesta Bowl Semifinal, the 2026 NCAA Women’s Final Four, and the 2027 NBA All-Star Game.
- Tourism Advocacy: Polly and Eric emphasized the importance of supporting the proposed Arizona Tourism Improvement Area (TIA) legislation to sustain and grow tourism’s positive impact on the community.
Their insightful presentation highlighted the vital role tourism plays in driving economic development and enhancing the quality of life in Greater Phoenix.
