Message From the BAP Board of Directors
The Arizona Housing Fund is a philanthropic initiative aimed at addressing housing affordability and homelessness issues in Arizona. It functions as a collaborative effort between public and private sectors, including government agencies, nonprofits, and corporations. The fund primarily focuses on providing financial support for affordable housing projects, rental assistance programs, and homeless services.
Housing Fund is crucial for several reasons:
Addressing homelessness: The fund directly supports programs that provide shelter and support services to homeless individuals and families, helping to reduce homelessness rates in Arizona communities.
Affordable housing development: Contributions to the fund enable the development of affordable housing units, ensuring that low-income individuals and families have access to safe and stable housing options.
Community impact: By donating to the Arizona Housing Fund, individuals can make a tangible difference in the lives of those struggling with housing insecurity, contributing to stronger and more resilient communities statewide.
Collaboration and innovation: The fund fosters collaboration among various stakeholders and encourages innovative solutions to housing challenges, leading to more effective and sustainable outcomes.

Message From Arizona State Treasurer
Greetings Biltmore Area Partnership Members,
April is Financial Literacy Month and a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of wise money management. As I visit schools and community groups across the state, I encourage all Arizonans to be smart about handling their finances. This is an important topic for all Arizonans, and it is never too early for children to start saving for their future.
At Capitol Elementary School in Phoenix, I visited with first grade students and read them the book “You Can’t Buy a Dinosaur with a Dime” as part of Read Across America Day. At this event, I not only had the opportunity to read to students, but also engage with them about the importance of wisely saving, sharing and spending their money.
For Girl Scouts Day at the Arizona State Capitol, I shared about my personal journey into public service and experiences as a former Arizona Girl Scout. I encouraged the students to consider saving wisely for their future by using the free student resources on our Financial Education Portal on the Arizona Treasurer’s Office website. For more information or to access the Financial Education Portal, please visit: https://www.aztreasury.gov/financial-education.
Finally, Arizona must continue to enhance financial education in our schools. That is why I joined members of the Arizona Financial Literacy Task Force and recently made a presentation to the State Board of Education.
We encouraged the Board to consider adding a separate one semester personal finance course for all Arizona high school students. The Task Force has been instrumental in expanding the awareness of financial education efforts.
We believe now is the time for the Board to consider this important next step. My Office and the Task Force stand ready to help the Board, schools and educators to incorporate this important life skill lesson into our curriculum.
As always, if you or your organization require my Office’s assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at (602) 542-7800 or aztreasury.gov/contact.
Sincerely,
Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee
Message from Councilman Kevin Robinson
I Will Always Advocate for the City
A significant part of my responsibilities as a Councilman, is advocating for the city whenever possible. Last week I had the chance to do just that at the National League of Cities conference in Washington DC. Aside from the conference itself, which offers deep dive sessions and panel discussions to allow you to see how other cities are handling issues, I was able to schedule time with different federal agencies with the goal of helping Phoenix.
I had the opportunity to spend time with Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS), and office within the Department of Justice that provides grant funding programs within police departments around the country. Grants include money for community policing development, de-escalation training, school violence prevention, technology and equipment, and hiring officers. Having been able to sit down with the COPS office, I feel we can be well equipped to apply for these grants. In fact, as we continue to build this relationship – I have been invited to be a guest on their podcast “The Beat”, so please stay tuned!
I also was given some time to meet with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). This was important for me because our Arts and Culture are integral to Phoenix. We are lucky to have a great department that works well to make Phoenix a great place to live. The NEA was very helpful in terms of pointing us in the right directions to seek out grant funding for upcoming art projects. They also pointed out that it was a rarity for a local official to stop by their offices, and it seemed to be greatly appreciated.
Leaving Phoenix during the nicest weather of the year is tough to do, but I am glad I had the chance to sit down with agencies that can genuinely be helpful to our great city. Hopefully I’ll be writing to you later this year with an update on some of these grant opportunities, and we can look forward to the improvements that can be had with them.
Thank you,
Kevin Robinson

Arizona Biltmore Golf Club
New Clubhouse Construction Update: Crews are in the homestretch in completing the beautiful new clubhouse at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club. Expect the building to open to the public sometime in May. The new clubhouse includes the new Adobe Bar & Grille, a grab-and-go market known as The Pantry, a state-of-the-art golf simulator room, as well as event space in The Ballroom. Spaces in the new clubhouse are named for rooms one would find on an estate, including The Pantry, The Gallery, The Ballroom and The Balcony. To learn more about the new clubhouse and to see artist renderings, please visit the project website at www.yourbiltmoregolf.com.
Adobe Bar & Grille To Open In May: The countdown is on for the opening of the Adobe Bar & Grille, a reimagined rendition of The Biltmore’s popular Adobe Restaurant. The new eatery will open in May (exact date TBD) as part of the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club’s spectacular new 19,400 sq. ft. clubhouse. The Adobe Bar & Grille will feature a center bar, communal tables for dining and swapping golf stories, multiple televisions and large Renlita doors that open to an expansive patio with views of the Estates Course and downtown Phoenix. The Bar area will also include a piano bar to provide a lounge-like atmosphere, regularly entertain guests and add ambiance to the dining experience. Contiguous from the Bar, the Adobe’s stylish dining room will also feature dynamic views of the skyline for neighbors, resort guests, golfers and non-golfers to enjoy.
Adobe Bar & Grille Welcomes New Executive Chef: The Adobe Bar & Grille recently welcomed Richard Castricone as Executive Chef. Chef Richard will oversee all culinary operations for the new restaurant set to open in May. He has 20-plus years of culinary experience, including overseeing restaurant, banquet and catering operations at hotels and resorts across Arizona. Chef Richard most recently served as the executive sous chef at the Omni Hotel at ASU in Tempe, Arizona. Earlier in his career, Chef Richard was the executive chef at Saguaro Hotel Scottsdale, and at the Prescott Resort & Conference Center. He is also well versed in serving large banquets, weddings and events, having worked as the senior banquet sous chef at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona and as the chef de partie at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain in Marana, Arizona.
Food and Beverage Option: With the new clubhouse and restaurant scheduled to open in May, the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club is offering guests food and beverage options out of the Halfway House. The menu includes made-to-order breakfast sandwiches, fresh turkey or ham sandwiches, the world-famous Biltmore Dog, as well as snacks, coffee and a wide selection of beverages.
Weddings, Meetings and Events: The spectacular new clubhouse has 6,000 sq. ft. of event space in The Ballroom, perfect for weddings, meetings and events. The Ballroom features a state-of-the-art sound system and visual displays and can be split into two rooms for smaller, more intimate gatherings. For more information on holding your next event at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club, contact Catering Sales Manager Sally Mackesy at smackesy@jdmgolf.com.
